The province of Alicante is amongst the privileged venues chosen by Bruce Springsteen for his next Spanish tour, along with Valladolid, Bilbao, Málaga and Santiago de Compostela.
This Spanish tour forms part of Bruce’s “Working on a Dream” promotional tour, which began in February in the city of Tampa, Florida in the USA.
Benidorm put 35,000 tickets on sale at 10 a.m. on 6th March for the Bruce Springsteen concert that will take place on 30th July at the Les Foietes Stadium, where the artist will present his latest album, 'Working on a dream'.
This morning when announcing the concert, the mayor of Benidorm, Manuel Pérez Fenoll, referred to it as a "world-class musical event that will once again place Benidorm amongst the leading organisers of international music concerts".
Manuel Pérez Fenoll also pointed out that the importance of this event is also due to "the grandeur of the show, three hours of spectacular music and an enormous stage", at what will be the “musical event of the year on the Mediterranean".
"One again, Benidorm has chosen a world-class musical event in order to promote our tourist brand", continued the mayor. The Council will provide 100,000 euros towards the organisation of the concert.
Furthermore, the mayor indicated that the city’s business associations have been informed of the concert so that they can "carry out their own marketing activities and attract clients using this information, which is an excellent incentive for the promotion of Benidorm".
Manuel Pérez Fenoll also announced that the Regional Department for Culture and Important Events is continuing to negotiate more events for 2009.
